DIY: Dry Shampoo for Light Hair and Dark Hair

It is almost impracticable and impossible for you to wash your hair every day. As a result, your hair gets damaged. Rinsing hair take time and further time is consumed in drying them. Women style their hair using a variety of tools, such as ironing presser, crimper, dryer, curler, etc. Are you aware of the fact that such tools may make your hair look flawless for the time being, but, ultimately, they are going to make your strands vulnerable and more susceptible to damage?

Since, shampooing and condition everyday consumes a lot of time, one can opt for a dry shampoo. But, dry shampoos, available in the market, can be really expensive and might contain harmful chemicals that could have a reverse effect on the quality of your hair. So, it is better to go for a cheaper and authentic option, that is, a homemade dry shampoo.

MY THOUGHTS ON DRY SHAMPOO

The best dry shampoo I can share with you is LESS IS MORE.
Sprinkle powder 2 or 3 inches away from your scalp
rub it in with your fingers that will break up the formula
I have experienced Over-application and it makes my hair difficult to work with and
looks chalky.
On the other hand when I use dry shampoo correctly, it lifts my hair style while creating
a beautiful texture.

Gray/ Silver
For gray or silver colored hair a great combination of ingredients for dry shampoo would
be arrowroot or cornstarch with bentonite clay.

Strawberry Blonde/ Red
People with strawberry blonde or red hair should use a fixture of arrowroot or cornstarch
with cinnamon.

Dark Brown
Those of you with dark brown hair should definitely consider using a mix of arrowroot or
cornstarch with cocoa powder and activated charcoal.

Black Hair
for black hair
mix in a bowl together of 1/4 cup of corn starch
1/4 cup of cocoa
about 5-8 drops of whatever essential oil you choose

As somebody who washes my hair with regular shampoos only once a week.
I often use dry shampoo between washes and it works terrific at stopping the oiliness in
my hair.
But doing this too often can actually be detrimental because the built-up residue can
eventually clog your follicles.
So try to do it only once between hair washes so your scalp has a chance to breathe.
